I have a couple of Wii U’s and I think they are one of the best devices available for playing the full gamut of great Nintendo games past and present, especially with the current state of the various hacks allowing you to play everything from NES, SNES, GameCube, Wii and NDS.
A usual pain point is running out of space to install games on the internal NAND storage, you can’t really use the SD card as you need it to be FAT for passing data through the homebrew channel, you can partition it but the SD slot seems pretty slow.
I’m comparing a few Unity Assets that help kick start a traffic system. I need it to run on 2017+ iOS devices so performance is going to be a big factor.
I’m expecting it’ll be a simple waypoint system without “proper” car controllers or navigation agents, lets see how their performance stack up.
Update: I’ve been using UnitySteer for a few days and have 25 vehicles traffic traveling along waypoints which intersect, avoiding each other with collisions and built it out to an iPhone 6 (A8 CPU1.4 GHz dual-core 64-bit ARMv8)
Getting 3D characters to speak dialogue is a massive pain point for developers. Its 2018 and I’m taking a look into 3 assets that hopefully can get the lip syncing done painlessly.
My 3 current options are Salsa with Random Eyes (€31.27), LipSync Pro (€31.27) and Occulus SDK LipSync (€0.00), there was lots of talk from people on Unity forums about Cheshire, people saying it’s a great option but the developer pulled that from the asset store a year or so ago.
This is a pretty simple solution, its better than random or looping jaw animation, it has 3 blendshapes…
This is my experience of trying to choose a car controller for a driving project.
I’m starting out creating a simple driving project in Unity and need a car controller for my project, I want something thats fun and simple to drive, an arcade style not a realistic one. It also needs to have decent performance, it’s main target is for phones and tablets and my benchmark will be an old IOS 9 Ipad 2 (OpenGL ES 2.0).
What do I mean fun and arcadey? I want the car to be able to drift and I want a visually bouncy…
